3 Types of Content You Need To Be Making

There is so much conflicting advice on social media marketing on the internet it makes my head spin. Years ago when I was a small business owner, and before I worked in marketing, I was stumped with how to grow my account.

But now, after years of working in marketing and having a firsthand insight into how a lot of businesses operate I realised I wasn’t the only one who was clueless! There are SO many business owners completely winging it when it comes to social media, impacting their reach and conversion. There’s a better way!

There are three types of content you can create to make sure your marketing is appealing to potential customers at different stages of their relationship with you. When you combine these content types with your content pillars and content calendar you will have a content creation system that is finely tuned to build an engaged and loyal online community.

Let’s dive into the content types:

Outreach

Outreach content is meant for people who don’t follow you and have no previous exposure to your brand or business. This content is aimed at producing authentic engagement and community building. A lot of it is inspirational and more surface level to be more relatable to a broader audience. We haven’t established trust with this audience yet, so conversion is unlikely to happen.

Nurture

Nurture content is to do just that, nurture your audience. This content is for people who have seen you before, maybe follow you, but don’t know much about you yet. This content helps to build trust, show them you understand their struggles and goals, and demonstrate you know exactly how to solve their problems. This is where we showcase your expertise and develop trust.

Convert

Convert content is for the people who already know you, love you and want to purchase or book with you. This is your direct sales content and leads your audience to a specific call to action. This is where we showcase the transformation your service/product offers, highlight client testimonials and give your invested audience the final push to buy.
